Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of audio-visual media on the English vocabulary of Group A children in BA Aisyiyah 8 Grogol Sukoharjo Academic Year 2018/2019. This study uses Pre-Experimental (Pre-Experimental Design) that is using One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection was carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The subjects of this study were 11 children from group A BA Aisyiyah 8 Grogol Sukoharjo. The final observation results of English vocabulary after the experiment obtained a score of 275 with an average of 25.00, the lowest value of 22, the highest value of 28, and SD = 1.673. Based on these data can be obtained t count -21,926 ≤ -t table -1,812, t arithmetic can be known through the analysis of SPSS 15.0 windows and t table can be known through the table of critical distribution values t with df or db value = 10 and α = 0.05, because the value of t arithmetic -21,926 ≤ -t table -1,812 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that audio visual media influences the English vocabulary of group A children in BA Aisyiyah 8 Grogol Sukoharjo in the 2018/2019 school year.
