Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze how the motivation and tight supervision have influence on the work productivity of the officers in the Local Secretary Office of Karanganyar Regency. From the regression analysis, which OLS Model is applied, the result shows that the variables of motivation and tight supervision do not have influence on the productivity of the officers both of individual and group. The variables of motivation and tight supervision are only able to explain that the huge variety of variable of dependence of work productivity of the officers is 1.3 %. That is why, transformation model is a need in this research. The improvement model is done by applying Linear Probability Model ( LPM). The result of this analysis shows that both of variable of explanatory motivation and the variable of tight supervision have a strong significance both of individual and group to the variable of dependence of work productivity of the officers in The Local Secretary Office of Karanganyar Regency. It can be seen from " T " test and " F " test which are significant to a: 1 %. The model of 2 accuracy test by applying Determination Coefficient ( R ) also shows that the result is so satisfactory, in which the variety of dependence variable of work productivity is able to be explained by the variables of explanatory motivation and tight supervision. That is 99,60 %. The variables of motivation have a negative influence on the work productivity of the officers. It means the increase of work productivity is not caused by the motivation of work, which is getting high. But, it is caused by the feeling, that they will lose something, recognition, money, or even their posts. The implication of Policy which is necessary to be recommended are to grow up the motivation of work in order to increase the productivity by giving a reward or a gift ( such as: an extra-money, an honor, an appreciation, etc ), and to create a work net which moves from the unsatisfaction work until getting the satisfaction on work.. This research also shows that the variables of tight supervision have a positive influence on the work productivity of the officers in The Office of Local Secretary of Karanganyar Regency. It has a meaning that tight supervision is the function of management that can guarantee in reaching a goal, in this case is work productivity, in which tight supervision is the circle of the function management and it takes the organization into a clear completed coordinated plan. So, the work productivity will increase. Therefore, The tight supervision in The Office of Local Secretary of Karanganyar Regency needs to be increased in order to increase the productivity of the officers.
