Abstract
Smoking behavior in adolescents from year to year has increased. Peer conformity and stress perceived by adolescents are influencing factors for trying cigarettes. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between conformity and stress with smoking behavior. The method in this study uses quantitative methods. The research subjects were 64 adolescents with using purposive sampling. The method of collecting data uses a scale. The data analysis technique uses multiple regression analysis techniques. The results show that the R value is 0.962 (p <0.01) which indicates that there is a significant relationship between conformity and stress with smoking behavior in adolescents. The contribution of conformity effectiveness and stress to smoking behavior is 92.6%. From the results of this study it is also known that conformity, stress, and smoking behavior of adolescents are classified as moderate.
