Abstract

IMPROVEMENT OF ABILITY TO COMPLETE THE PROBLEM OF EQUATION SYSTEM LINE TWO VARIABLES THROUGH STAD COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL (PTK in Class VIII Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta Middle School Academic Year 2018/2019). Essay. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education.Muhammadiyah University Of Surakarta. June, 2019. This study aims to determine the increase in the ability to solve system problems in two-variable linear equations through the STAD type cooperative learning model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. The research subjects are students of class VIIID Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta Junior High School, amounting to 25 students and class VIIID mathematics teachers. The technique of collecting data is done through observation, tests, field notes and documentation. Data analysis technique begins with data reduction then data presentation and final conclusion. The results of this study indicate an increase in the ability to solve the problem of linear variables of two variables on learning outcomes through cooperative learning type STAD model. This can be seen from the performance indicators before the action: 1) students who are able to understand the problem 5 students with percentage 20%, 2) students who are able to make mathematical models 5 students with percentage 20%, 3) students who are able to solve the problem using the strategy obtained 4 students with percentage 16% and after taking action to get results: 1) Students who are able to understand the problem 40% or 10 students increase to 20 students with percentage 80%, 2) Students who are able to make mathematical models 36% or 9 students increase to 20 students with percentage 80%, 3) Students who are able to solve problems use a strategy of 32% or 8 students to increase to 19 students with percentage 76%.
