Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to: 1) examine the differences in the ability to solve PISA-oriented math questions space and shape content in terms of gender. 2) analyzing students' reasoning abilities in: a) presenting mathematical statements in writing and images viewed from gender. b) manipulate data in terms of gender. c) examine the validity of an argument in terms of gender. d) in examining the validity of an argument in terms of gender. This type of research uses the mix method research method. Data collection techniques using test, documentation, observation, and interview methods. The data analysis technique uses the T-test and flow model. The results of the study: 1) there was no difference in the ability to solve mathematical questions between male students and female students. 2) high-capable male and female students have met the first indicator. Whereas male and female students with moderate abilities are still lacking in fulfilling the first indicator. For low-ability students, they have not fulfilled the first indicator. 3) male and female students with high and moderate abilities have fulfilled the second indicator. While low-ability students still lack the second indicator. 4) high-capable male and female students have met the third indicator. For male students of moderate ability, they have met the third indicator, while moderate-capable female students are still lacking in meeting the third indicator. Low ability students do not meet the third indicator. 5) High-capable male and female students have met the fourth indicator. For male students of moderate ability, they are still lacking in fulfilling the fourth indicator. While female students with moderate ability have met the fourth indicator.
