Abstract

This research aims to understand the role of leaders in implementing occupational health and safety (K3). The study used a qualitative phenomenological method by collecting research data using interviews. Total informants in this study amounted to 7 people. The research was conducted at PT. X which is a textile company in Sukoharjo. The method of data analysis in this study is descriptive data analysis. The results of the study indicate that the leader has carried out the management function. Leaders build a work climate with a culture of co-operative and participatory or involving employees. The reason leaders carry out their role is to ensure the health of employees, ensure the safety of employees, achieve productivity, avoid work accidents, for convenience, to guarantee the future, maintain company procedures, fulfill the rights of employees and avoid things that harm both the company and employees. The influence of the role of the leader is the discipline of the use of personal protective equipment (APD), repairs and changes by employees. But in its implementation there are still employees who do not comply with the rules of health and safety, namely not using personal protective equipment (APD) according to the standard.
