Abstract
Background: Skill of gross motor movement requires coordination of hands, feet and the entire body of the child. This requires a coordination process from the brain, namely the coordination of the right and left brain and functional maintenance of the brain. The gym brain is a series of simple movements that stimulate the brain area based on the functional brain of each. The gym brain consists of movements that demand balance, which mechanically activate both brain hemispheres through the motor cortex and sensory cortex, and stimulate the vestibular system to maintain balance. Light movements with games through hands and feet can provide stimuli or stimuli that can improve gross motor skills. Objective: to determine the effect of brain gym on improving gross motor skills in kindergarten children. Method: This type of research is quasi-experimental. The research design is Pre-Test and Post Test Control Group Design. The sample of this study amounted to 26 respondents. Sampling technique with non probability sampling. The data analysis technique of this study used paired t-test and independent sample t-test. Results: The results of the paired t-test showed that there was an effect of braingym on increasing gross motor skills in kindergarten children, with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. There is an influence of daily school activities in the Dharma Wanita Gedongan Kindergarten on increasing gross motility skills in kindergarten children, with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. There was no significant difference in brain gm administration with daily activities at the Gedongan Women's Dharma Kindergarten. Conclusion: there is a brain gym influence on improving gross motor skills of kindergarten children in Gedongan Women's Dharma School.
