Abstract

The purposes of this research are 1. To know the feasibility of enrichment books in the dynamic of hydrosphere subject as a knowledge base for floods disasters for tenth grade students in Sekolah Menengah Atas Islam 1 Surakarta, 2. To know the effectiveness of enrichment books in the dynamic of hydrosphere subject as a knowledge base for flood disasters for the tenth grade in Sekolah Menengah Atas Islam 1 Surakarta. Type of this research is research and development (R&D), the researcher uses Sugiyono theory by following ten steps in his study which is then simplified into six steps. The study was conducted in Surakarta Islamic high school with research design called the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, using 2 classes, one for the experimental class and the other one for the control class. The analysis technique using T paired sampled t-test and N-Gain Score. Based on the results of the research, it was found that (1) The process of developing enrichment books through improving products made by experts. Media experts with an average value of 4,647 included in "GOOD" category and the results of research from respondents have an average of 4,224 also included in the "GOOD" category. (2) The significant value in the control and experimental classes showed a value of 0,000. Thus, the results of t-test showed H0 rejected and H1 accepted which found the significant difference by the knowledge and the understanding of students towards hydrosphere dynamic material as a flood disasters knowledge. The acquisition of average results using the N-Gain Score, so that the results of the effectiveness of enrichment books found in the control class is 0,43 included in the “MEDIUM” category and for experimental class is 0,75 included in the “HIGH” category. The enhancement of students learning outcomes in the experimental class 0,32 higher than the control class. In conclusion, the enrichment book developed has been feasible and effective in improving students learning outcomes.
