Abstract

Background: Mental disorders are syndromes or behavioral patterns that have clinical significance that have a relationship with distress and cause interference with one or more functions of human life. About 450 million people in the world experience mental disorders. At least one in four people in the world experience mental health problems and mental problems. Mental health is one of the significant health problems in the world. There are around 35 million people affected by depression, and about 47.5 million are affected by dementia. The purpose of this study was to determine the coping mechanism in hallucinatory patients. Method: This research is a quantitative research, with a descriptive survey research design. The study was conducted in April - May 2019 at the RSJD Dr. Arif Zainudin Surakarta. Populations are divided into two categories, namely, target populations and surveys. The target population is a population that has been determined according to the research problem, while the survey population is the population covered in the target population. The population is people with schizophrenia, the total population is 198 patients with hallucinogenic symptoms. The sampling technique used is incidental sampling. The instrument used questionnaire mechanism of hallucinatory coping, to identify the actions of hallucinatory coping mechanisms, the effectiveness and sources / information obtained by hallucinogenic patients. This questionnaire consists of 10 items of questions as follows: feeling anxious, unable to be calm, rowdy, nervous, tense, not having security (Hawari, 2014). Research Results: The client's coping mechanism for auditory hallucinations mostly states that there is a voice that invites to talk, occurs at night, the cause is fatigue, the place when in the house, there are types of hallucinations voices that invite to speak, actions when hallucinations come screaming with as hard as possible, the duration is only a few seconds, impacting fatigue, his feelings can cause consequences for daily activities, social relationships with other people and families, need to be directed in carrying out self-care.
