Abstract

East Kutai Regency is one of the districts in East Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. Has several tourism objects that are very potential including Teluk Lombok Beach, Aquatik Beach, French Gulf, and Bukit Pelangi. The four tours are tourism objects that have good potential that can be developed. These four attractions are tourism objects that have less well maintained due to the lack of awareness of the local community as well as a lack of awareness in maintaining cleanliness in these tourism objects, especially outdoor tourism. In addition, lack of accessibility to tourist destinations and through the distance that is far enough to go to tourist attractions. The purpose of this study includes analyzing the potential of each tourist attraction internally and externally and analyzing tourism development strategies in East Kutai Regency. This method of analysis uses the method of observation in the field. Data analysis in this study used a SWOT analysis. The results of this study indicate that tourism objects in East Kutai Regency have a moderate internal and external potential classification, Teluk Lombok Beach, French Gulf, Aquatic Beach, and Rainbow Hill. Low potential classification, namely tourism objec teluk perancis beach. Development of tourism objects can be done by improving the quality by means of socialization to the surrounding community and managers in maintaining the cleanliness of tourist objects and complementing in terms of supporting facilities for tourism objects.
