Abstract

This study aims to determine the management carried out by laboratory managers in order to carry out IPA practicum activities in Surakarta Muhammadiyah 5 Middle School 2018/2019 academic year. The type of research used in this study is descriptive research which uses three methods of data collection techniques, namely observation, documentation and interviews with teachers teaching science subjects (laboratory). The data was analyzed using descriptive analysis. The parameters of this study refer to Permendiknas No. 24 of 2007 are: 1) science laboratory design, 2) laboratory administration, 3) management of science laboratory equipment and materials. The results of the observation data showed a percentage in the laboratory design of 87.5% IPA, 70% laboratory administration, 90% tool and material management, that management of science laboratories in Muhammadiyah Middle School 5 Surakarta even semester 2018/2019 had an average percentage of 82,5%, therefore it can be concluded that the management of the Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta Middle School science laboratory includes a very good category and has met the criteria in Permendiknas No. 24 of 2007.
