Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the structure that built the Queen Nyontek novel by Teresa Bertha. (2) expressing the values of character education in Teresa Bertha's Ratu Nyontek novel with a sociological literary approach. (3) reveal the relevance of the results of this study in learning Indonesian in high school. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data sources obtained from the Ratu Nyontek novel by Teresa Bertha amounted to 198 pages. Data collection techniques using library techniques, techniques refer to and note down. The data analysis technique in this study was carried out using the dialectical method The results of this study were: (1) The flow used by Teresa Bertha in the Ratu Nyontek novel is an advanced flow. The figure presented in the Ratu Nyontek novel has four characters with the main characters namely Niken, Sany, and Nando. Next to the maid, Mama. Implicitly, the time setting described is in the afternoon. The incident depicted in the Ratu Nyontek novel took place at school. This novel adopts the story of the habits of schoolchildren in their lives. (2) The values of character education contained in the Ratu Nyontek novel by Teresa Bertha are divided into seven namely hard work, curiosity, tolerance, discipline, respect for achievement, social care, and responsibility. (3) Ratu Nyontek novels relevant to literary learning especially in class XI SMA II semester II with KD 3.1 and 4.1.
