Abstract

The aims of these reaserch are to describe: (1) characteristics self-development for teachers at Muhammadiyah 2 Klaten Utara Vocational School, (2) characteristics of further education for teachers at the Muhammadiyah 2 Klaten Utara Vocational School, (3) the characteristics of constraints in self-development at the Muhammadiyah 2 Klaten Utara Vocational School. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research with ethnographic research design. The technique of collecting data through interviews, observation, investigation and testing data using source trianggulation. The results of the study show that self-development for teachers at Muhammadiyah 2 Klaten Utara Vocational School has been well structured, schools and teachers were able to determine self-development by participating in various self-development activities carried out in schools and outside schools that had a very positive impact on teachers. In further education for teachers, principals provide freedom for teachers who wish to continue their education. Constraints that arise in self-development activities for teachers show several factors including the factors of time, age, cost, condition of the students the number of tasks and location distance.
