Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) describe the pioneering of natural potential based on adiwiyata schools in Manggar Junior High School, (2) describe the characteristics of environment-based on the policy, (3) describe the characteristics of an environment-based on the curriculum, (4) describe the characteristics of participatory based environmental activities, (5) describe the characteristics of eco-environment infrastructure management in Manggar 6 Junior High School. The type of this research is a qualitative study with an ethnographic design. This research was conducted at Manggar 6 Junior High School. The main subjects of this study were all people in school. The methods used in this study are observation, interview, and documentation. This report is analyzed by using triangulation source and data in sites. The results of this study is to prove the pioneering of adiwiyata schools including: (1) An environment-based on policy which is proved by the vision, mission and goals that are based on environment and allocate funds of 20% of the BOS APBD and APBN. (2) The curriculum which is proved by the integration of environmental material with the subjects in school. (3) Environment activities such as ‘Sabtu Bersih’ and extracurricular. (4) The management of infrastructure is conducted by the efficiency of electricity and water, canteens do not serve food in package, the waste management through monitoring and regulation of the disposal.
