Abstract

This study aims to describe the student's errors in resolving the matter of the naration-material of Linear equations of one variable (PLSV) based on the SOLO taxonomy. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subject of the research is the Seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta in 2018/2019. The techniques of collecting data are observation, test, interview, and documentation. The technique of analyzing data are reduction, the presentation of data, and the withdrawal of the conclusion (verification). The students' error in resolving the materials of PLSV is identified by the fifth SOLO taxonomy (Structure of the Observed Learning Outcomes), namely level prestructural, level unistructural, level multistructural, relationallevel, and the level of extended abstract. The results of the research is obtained by five SOLO taxonomy level with a large percentage; prestructural level is 7.32%, unistructural level is 46.34%, multistructural level is 26.83%, relational level is 7.32%, and extended abstract level is 12.19% for question number 1, at number 2 are prestructural level is 7.32%, unistructural level is 39.02%, multistructural level is 29.27%, relational level is 17.07%, and extended abstract level is 7.32%. The results show the students' mistakes at unistructural level is more dominant if compared to the other level with the kinds of mistake in mathematically manipulation (traits in resolving a problem). The students' error at unistructural level is caused by the students-self who unable to change the information that contained on the question into a mathematical model and not conscientious in doing.
