Abstract

This research aims to know the development and effectiveness of enrichment book Indonesia's location and extensive in embedding disaster insight into class VII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta. The research is RnD that adopts 4D and modified reserchers to be 3D (define, design, develop). Development Design uses the Pre-test Post-test Control Groub Design with 15 respondents in control class and 18 respondents in Experimentary class selected with purposive rendom sampling. Using analysis data with T-tests and N-Gain analysis. Results of product assessment by respondents got a score of 4.56 and included the "GOOD" category and ready to used in reasearch. The results of pre-test and post-test data showed that Ho was rejected and HI received which means there is a significant difference 0,000 < 0.05. The results N-Gain analysis of the experiment class was superior to the control class with increase a 65% in experiment class and control class with 28% increase which means the product is stated to be more effective in improving student learning outcomes. The improvement in disaster insight is measured by the analysis of each grain indicator that shows an increase of 35 % which means that the product developed successfully increases the level of knowledge and student disaster insight.
