Abstract

Typhoid fever is an acute bacterial infectious disease in the gastrointestinal tract caused by gram negative bacteria, namely Salmonella enterica serovar typhi (S. typhi). For that treatment of typhoid fever using antibiotics. Inappropriate use of antibiotics in the management of therapy for typhoid fever patients can cause no therapeutic effect and cause resistance. According to WHO, as many as 23,000 people died and 2,049,442 cases of illnesses were caused by antibiotic resistance. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of antibiotics including the exact indication, the right drug, the right patient and the right dosage in typhoid fever patients in RSUD Dr. R. Soetijono Blora in the period January 2017-August 2018. This research is a non-experimental research with retrospective data method, namely by recording medical record data according to sample inclusion criteria which includes inpatients diagnosed with typhoid fever, receiving antibiotic therapy and complete patient medical record data. Data on antibiotic use were analyzed descriptively to get an overview of the accuracy of antibiotics in typhoid fever patients by looking at the Clinical Pathways RSUD Dr. R. Soetijono. The results of the study of 42 patients found antibiotics used for patients with typhoid fever in RSUD Dr. R. Soetijino is ceftriaxone (45,24%), chloramphenicol (23,81%), ciprofloxacin (9,52%), cefotaxime and amplycline (7,14%), cotrimoxazole (4,76%), and azithromycin (2,38%). The evaluation result showed the right indication 100% and the right patient is 100%, while the exact evaluation result of the right drug is 97,62% and the right dose is 36,58%.
