Abstract
To determine whether or not a defendant is guilty, as charged in the indictment is determined by proof. In Article 184 of the Criminal Procedure Code, various types of evidence are mentioned, one of which is the inclusion of expert evidence. In addition to the role of experts related to the provision of information that should be neutral, impartial, experts also encounter obstacles that occur during the inspection process, such as difficulties in giving information in front of a judge or public prosecutor due to different educational backgrounds. In conclusion, the two experts, both experts from the ESDM Office of Central Java Province and experts from the Purworejo District Health Office, were in accordance with their role as experts. An expert does not have to be interpreted as someone who is educated or has a certain diploma, but can also be interpreted as someone who has experience in their field or skill. In the event that the position of expert influences the Judge to make a decision, the Judge is not obliged to use the expert's statement to make a decision.
