Abstract

Bagasse and cassava peel are waste from industry and communities that are underutilized. Bagasse and cassava peel contain cellulose which is quite high. PVAc and cassava powder are two different types of adhesives. The study aims to determine the quality of art paper from a combination of bagasse and cassava peel with PVAc and cassava powder through sensory testing.This study using the Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with 2 factors. Factor 1: Comparison of raw materials (cassava peel: bagasse) (K) K1 (50:50), K2 (30:70), K3 (40:60) and factor 2: adhesive material (P), P1: PVAc 5%, P2: Cassava powder 5% with 3 replications. The technique collection of data in this study was qualitative descriptive. The sensory test result at K2P2 that are best received by community becauseof their fairly smooth texture, medium fiber apperance, and attractive color. There are any differences of the art paper quality from the comparison of bagasse and cassava peels with PVAc and cassava powder on it’s tensile strength, tearing strength, and sensory testing.
