Abstract

Abstract Hemodialysis is dialysis performed outside the body which we usually call dialysis or cleansing the blood by using an artificial machine or kidney, from substances that have excessive concentration in the body. Patient compliance in managing the disease such as physical therapy in basic diseases and nutritional therapy (limiting fluid intake, potassium, phosphorus) can affect the process of maintaining the patient's quality of life. This study aimed to determine the relationship between adherence to therapy and the quality of life of hemodialysis patients in the Boyolali Pandan Arang Regional General Hospital. This research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional approach. The population of this study was hemodialysis patients in the hemodialysis unit of Pandan Arang Hospital Boyolali Hospital in January 2019. The study samples were 42 patients using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis uses the Chi-square formula. The results of this study indicate that patients have compliance as many as 33 people (78.6%) and good quality of life as many as 27 people (64.3%). The Chi-Square statistical test results obtained p value = 0.003 with a significant value p <0.05. There is a relationship between adherence to therapy with 2 the quality of life of patients with hemodialysis in the Pandan Arang General Hospital in Boyolali. Suggestions for patients to maintain adherence that is owned and who have not so that the family increases patient motivation. Keywords: Compliance, Quality of Life, Hemodialysis
