Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematical learning skills through a step pattern on students of class VII E, amounting to 32 in Smpn 2 Banyudono. This research is classroom action research conducted in collaboration between researchers and mathematics teachers. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, tests and field notes and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is a qualitative data analysis technique using critical analysis techniques. The results of this study are the increasing skills of students learning mathematics students, of 32 students can be seen from before the action: 1) students who are skilled at understanding the problem as many as 6 students (18.75%), 2) skilled students compile a plan of 4 students (12 , 50%), 3) students who are skilled in carrying out a plan as many as 4 students (12.50%), 4) students who are skilled at checking the results of completion are as many as 5 students (15.62%) and after the action is taken get results: 1 ) students who are skilled at understanding the problem are 25 students (78.12%), 2) students who are skilled at composing a plan as many as 23 students (71.87%), 3) students who are skilled in carrying out a plan are 24 students (75.00% ), 4) students who are skilled at checking the results of the settlement are 24 students (75.00%).
