Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze: (1) the significant effect of PBL-based PBL and conventional PBL learning models on mathematics learning achievement. (2) significant effect of student learning activeness on mathematics learning achievement. (3) there is an interaction between the use of learning models and student learning activeness towards mathematics learning achievement. This type of research is based on a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of Al Hadi Islamic Middle School 2018/2019 academic year. The samples taken in this study were 3 classes, the first experimental class with PBL learning models based on NHT, the second experimental class with PBL learning models, and the control class with conventional learning models. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques with test methods, questionnaire methods and documentation. The analysis technique used in this study is the analysis of two-way variance with unequal cells. Based on the results of the study with a significance level of 5%, it was obtained: (1) there was the influence of the PBL-based learning model NHT, PBL, and conventional learning achievement on students' mathematics. The NHT-based PBL learning model has the best learning achievement. (2) there is a significant effect of student learning activeness on mathematics learning achievement. The level of high learning activeness is better to have the best learning achievement. (3) there is an interaction between the learning model and student learning activeness towards mathematics learning achievement.
