Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze pedagogical competencies of mathematics teachers in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in SMP Negeri 3 Suruh Academic Year 2018/2019. Teacher's pedagogic competence in this study includes understanding of students, designing and implementing learning, evaluating learning outcomes, and developing students to actualize the various competencies they have. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, with the subject of class VIII mathematics teacher research in SMP Negeri 3 Suruh. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. The validity of the data using triangulation techniques. Data analysis techniques are carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the teacher's pedagogical competence has not been fully fulfilled. The teacher is able to understand the characteristics of students through observation and checking of students' work when the mathematics learning takes place. The teacher has not carried out maximum learning planning, because the teacher does not develop the components in the lesson plan itself but together when the sub rayon 06 group MGMP (sub-district orders), as a result there is a discrepancy between the components. Learning objectives that are not in accordance with the indicators so that the learning material is also not in accordance with the indicators. The teacher has carried out scientific learning based on the 2013 curriculum and delivered coherent learning in accordance with the RPP. The teacher is able to plan assessment techniques based on the 2013 curriculum, but has not been able to apply the planned assessment techniques in the implementation of the assessment of learning outcomes. The teacher has developed the potential of the students by involving students to actively discuss and include students in extracurricular activities and competitions.
