Abstract

Heart failure patients who often undergo hospitalization again occur because of a state of heart abnormality. This causes a series of symptoms that cause the patient to experience hospitalization again. Recurrence that occurs in patients with heart failure can be due to patients not adhering to therapy and recommendations that have been given. For this reason, the purpose of this study was to determine the factors of repeated hospitalization in heart failure patients. The study used a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach carried out in the inpatient ward Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 47 respondents. The research instrument was a questionnaire made by the researchers themselves with reference to existing sources and derived from the "Self-Care of Heart Failure Index (SCHFI)" questionnaire. The questionnaire contains 20 question items. The research that has been done shows that from various factors studied age and history of hypertension became the dominant factor in the incidence of re-hospitalization of heart failure patients in Dr. Hospital. Moewardi Surakarta. Nurses are expected to improve services, especially in providing education to minimize the incidence of hospitalization again by pressing the causative factors so that the incidence of hospitalization in patients with heart failure can decrease.
