Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Snowball Throwing strategy collaboration of Jigsaw to improve the learning activity in learning process of PPKn on class VII-G students SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta lesson year 2017/2018, describe the constraints faced, and describe solutions to these constraints. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, using data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation studies and flow analysis of models. This research was conducted at the SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta on class VII-G students. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of Snowball Throwing strategy collaboration of Jigsaw to improve the learning activity in learning process of PPKn on class VII-G students SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Surakarta lesson year 2017/2018 is as follows: Of the 22 students who initially showed learning activity only 15 students, after the implementation of Snowball Throwing strategy collaboration of Jigsaw increased to 20 students. Constraints faced are: learning time is lacking because in PPKn lessons using K13 should be 3 hours or 3x45 minutes in one day, however, in the implementation there are 2 days consisting 2x45 minutes on Thursday and 1x45 minutes on Friday; class atmosphere and students that are not conducive. The solution to this obstacle is to rearrange it to be in accordance with the K13 applied in the school, such as combining the PPKn subject hours, which initially are only one day a week; the school can provide guidance to the BP / BK teacher to provide guidance regularly to students so that each learning process takes place in a conducive manner and the teacher who teaches in the class so as to provide motivation to students.
