Abstract

This study aims to determine, 1) knowing the effectiveness of analog instructional media , 2) know the difference in student learning outcomes before using analog media and after using analog media. This research is an experimental study with the form of nonequivalent control group design which is almost the same as the pretest-posttest control group design but in this design the experimental group and the control group were not randomly selected. Analog learning media are processed using their own work. The learning method in this study uses the lecture method, discussion, and question and answer. Analog learning media has gone through the validation stage by material experts and media experts with an average value of 4.4 with the category "GOOD". Data analysis techniques in this study used the normality test and T test (t-test). Student learning outcomes in the control class with an average pretest score of 54.07 and posttest 63.21 while in the experimental class the average value of pretest 53.13 and posttest 68.28. Both classes experienced an increase in learning outcomes, but the increase in the control class was 19% and the experimental class was 29%. The increase in the experimental class was higher than the control class, meaning that the use of learning media analogous to the earth layer structure was effective.
