Abstract

Daryanti, S200170030. Character Superior and form process of writing in book text biography Indonesia rightfully proud. Thesis. Postgraduate School, Master of Language Studies, Muhammadiyah University Surakarta, Januari 2019. This study has three objectives, (1) mentioning the superior characters of biographical texts contained in Proud Indonesian books, (2) describing the writing style of the superior characters of biographical texts contained in the book Indonesia Proud, (3) describing the relevance of the research results of superior character and writing style biographical text as one of the teaching materials in learning Indonesian in class X Vocational School. This study uses qualitative methods. The data analyzed in this study were 30 biographical text data taken from sources of data from a collection of Proud Indonesian biographical books by Muhammad Alfan and Arimy Adi Savitri. The data collection technique in this study used the technique of listening and taking notes. To analyze the data in this study used referential equivalent techniques. There are three results of this study. One, there are 18 data that are worthy of research and found 6 superior characters. The superior characters found in the data include superior data 4 religious characters, superior smart and persistent characters 1 data, superior hard working characters 9 data, superior characters love homeland 3 data, superior characters responsible for data, and creative superior characters 1 data. Second, the writing style found is two, namely the style of narrative writing and description. There are 18 data styles of narrative writing and 3 data descriptions. Third, the form of relevance to teaching materials, students are asked to analyze the superior character and style of writing in biographical texts and then relate things that can be emulated from the events contained in biographical texts.
