Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BODY MASS INDEX, GENDER, AND FREQUENCY OF PHYSIOTHERAPY TOWARDS PAIN INTENSITY OF LOW BACK PAIN (LBP) PATIENTS IN RS. ORTHOPEDI PROF. DR. R. SOEHARSO SURAKARTA Fernanda Prima Prasticha1, Sulistyani2 Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah, Surakarta. Background: LBP cases at the age of 18-56 years old have more than 500, 000 in America, LBP percentage has increased by 59% in 5 years. Data from the Indonesian Neurologists Specialist Association (PERDOSSI) in 2002, there were 4, 456 people experiencing pain, it was found that about 819 people (35. 86%) complained of lower back pain. Objective: To determine the relationship between body mass index (imt), gender and frequency of physiotherapy towards the degree of pain in low back pain (lbp) patients in RS. Orthopedi Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta. Research Methods: This study used an observational analytic study design with a cross-sectional approach to study the relationship between body mass index (bmi), gender and frequency of physiotherapy to the degree of pain in low back pain (lbp) patients in RS. Orthopedi Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Bivariate analysis using Chi-Square. Multivariate analysis using logistic regression test. Results: There was no significant effect between body mass index (bmi) towards the degree of pain in low back pain patients (p = 1, OR = 24385754, 533), there was no significant influence between genderes towards the degree of pain in low back patients pain (p = 1, OR = 64618994, 580) and there was no significant effect between the frequency of physiotherapy towards the degree of pain in low back pain (lbp) patients (p = 1, OR = 0, 000) in the RS. Orthopedi Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta. Conclusion: The variable body mass index (bmi), gender and frequency of physiotherapy were not significantly affected based on statistical analysis of the degree of pain towards low back pain (lbp) patients in hospitals.
