Abstract

Surakarta City is one of the cities concerned with disability rights, which is supported by several public service facilities that specifically cater to the needs of people with disabilities. One of these service facilities is the Surakarta Disabled Child Development Foundation (YPAC), which is the first place for disabled children rehabilitation in Indonesia. YPAC Surakarta serves the needs of disabled children who have special characteristics and are the highest number of disabilities in Indonesia. Based on the evaluation of the full occupancy of the YPAC Surakarta building, there are several problems with existing buildings that are not in accordance with standard accessibility functions and guidelines. Therefore, the YPAC Surakarta building needs to be redesigned, according to the characteristics of disabled children who are the main users, and supported by accessible facilities. Plan a design concept for YPAC and SDLB with the psychological approach of cerebral palsy children in Surakarta which can facilitate children with special needs. The design of YPAC and SDLB D and D1 is expected to provide benefits for various groups, among others, is to facilitate children with special needs, foster self-confidence for children with special needs to be able to socialize and blend together with the community
