Abstract

In improving the quality of education an innovation is needed which is able to bring the school to a more advanced direction, one of which is by carrying out full day school because educational institutions are the most important person in providing education by providing knowledge and planting religious characters that can make students have characters better. Full day school is motivated by several factors, including: the lack of time for parents with children, lack of good interaction, high status of single parents, and the increasingly sophisticated communication tools. Full day school is a learning activity at the school that starts from morning to evening, which is from 07.00 to 15.30 WIB. Therefore, Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura Middle School is one of the educational institutions that seeks to improve the quality of the quality of education by holding a full day school-based school as a medium for the formation of students' religious character. In this researcher, it will explain the process of implementing full day school in forming the religious character of students aiming to describe the full day school implementation process in shaping the religious character of students and to describe the supporting factors and any inhibiting factors in implementing full day school in forming characters religious students of Muhammadiyah Middle School 1 Kartasura. This study included a type of qualitative research that used field studies at 1 Kartasura Muhammadiyah Middle School. Techniques for collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The analytical method used is data collection, data merging, data processing, and conclusions. The results of the research obtained by the researcher is that the process of conducting full day school at Muhammadiyah Middle School 1 Kartasura runs only 4 days, Monday-Thursday by returning at 3:30 a.m., while for Friday and Saturday it does not apply full day school. The implementation of full day school in forming the religious character of students at Muhammadiyah Middle School 1 Kartasura was carried out by the morning obligatory activities namely 5S (greetings, smiles, greetings, courtesy, courtesy), dhuha prayer, murojaah juz 30, hadith recitation, and also prayed dhuhur and ashar congregation, infaq, and Friday prayers in congregation. This character formation is carried out through several methods, namely: habituation methods, exemplary methods, reward and punishment methods. While for the supporting factors include curriculum, educator management, and good relations between the school and the guardian of the student. The inhibiting factors include, lack of human resources (HR), lack of facilities and infrastructure, miscommunication between teachers, and the number of students who still cannot read the Qur'an.
