Abstract

This research was designed to describe the mistakes made by students in completing linear program material questions based on Watson Criteria and to find out the causes of errors made by students. This research is a qualitative descriptive study involving 40 students of class XI IPA at Ngemplak 1 Boyolali High School. The technique of conveying data in this study is documentation and interviews, while analyzing data through data reduction, data presentation, and give conclusions. The results of this study indicate the type of student error in solving linear program material questions based on Watson's criteria: 1) inappropriate data 15,97%, 2) inappropriate procedure 16,39%, 3) omitted data 4.20%, 4) response level conflict 1,68%, 5) indirect manipulation 14,29%, 6) skill hierarchy problems 10,92%, 7) omitted conclusion 33,61%, 8) above other is 2,94%. The causes of mistakes made by students are students who are not thorough, in a hurry, lack time, lack mastery in the material, give up for working, and students do not need to write a complete answer.
