Abstract

Mental disorders have an impact on decreasing productivity, increasing maintenance costs and creating new problems. Understanding of families and communities who are lacking in mental disorders and a slanted view of sufferers results in families with mental disorders increasingly unable to make the right decisions to care for people with mental disorders. So if the family has come to surrender to consider a burden, exile or pasung becomes the choice of the family. This study aims to determine the differences in the quality of life of patients while in pasung, mass care, and post-treatment of patients after pasung in Sukoharjo. This research is quantitative descriptive. The study population was 30 patients after pasung in the Sukoharjo Community Health Center work area. The study sample of 30 patients post pasung was determined using total sampling technique. The collection of research data using questionnaire instruments, while data analysis using univariate analysis. The conclusion of the study was that there were differences in the quality of life of patients during pasung, the period of care and post-pasung patient pasung in the work area of Sukharjo Health Center.
