Abstract

This research paper is intended to describe 1) the students’ Narrative texts composition 2) the problems faced in applying their knowledge to make narrative text composition. This study is a qualitative research. In collecting the data, the writer uses observation, interview and document analysis. The technique of analyzing the data involves 1) identifying the data, 2) categorizing the data, 3) Describe the student’s difficulties, 4) making conclusion from the data. The result of the study shows that: 1) the students’ capability in writing narrative text is good, 2) the students have several problems faced in writing narrative text, namely: the difficulties in composing narrative text based on writing criteria, the difficulties in making; organization of each paragraph, grammar used, content, mechanism and explore their ideas and low vocabulary.
