Abstract

Geriatrics patients are vulnerable to changes related to physiological conditions, increased risk factors for diseases related to aging, and increased use of drugs. According to data from the Framingham study 1948, 90% of people over 55 or geriatric will experience hypertension during their lifetime.In geriatric patients it is usually very susceptible to drug interactions due to changes in physiological age, increased risk for diseases related to aging and consequent increases in drug use.Aim of this research is to know the potential drug interaction disease for inpatient geriatrics with hipertensive heart disease (HHD) in RSUD Dr.Moewardi on 2017. This research was observationally with retrospective collecting data. Results of the study found that of 80 patients geriatric hypertensive heart disease (HHD) with 581 recipes.From this number 240 cases of interaction were found, including pharmacokinetics with 104 cases (58.4%) and pharmacodynamics with 74 cases (41.6%).Interactions that occur based on severity include moderate with 162 cases (67.5%), minor with 48 cases (20%), and major 30 cases (12.5%) interactions.The three largest cases of interaction were captopril with furosemide in 9 cases (12.5%), aspilet with candesartan in 8 cases (10%) and captopril with candesartan in 7 cases (8.75%).
