Abstract

Strength, density and shape aggregate granules of a pavement layer are important and considered in construction of highway projects. Different forms of aggregates, as well as variations aggregate mixing give different qualities of aggregate mixtures, therefore, this Final Project analyzes the effect of the characteristics of granular forms on a mixture of Asphalt Treated Base (ATB) on volumetric properties and structural values of materials. This research was conducted based on experiments on several samples by conducting secondary data analysis and making mix design and sample testing, to obtain volumetric parameter data, bitumen stiffness (Sbit), mix stiffness (Smix), and structural value of the material using a nomogram. Tests are carried out by making specimens with varying levels of flat, round, and cube aggregates of 25%, 50%, 100% of the total coarse aggregate used by the Optimum Asphalt Level (KAO) of 5.5% (Ramdhani, 2016). Furthermore, it was analyzed to obtain the volumetric parameter values and the calculation of the structural value of the material used variations in vehicle speed plan of 5km / hour; 10km / hour; 15km / hour. The results of the shape analyz shape the grain greatly affects the quality of road construction, in the Marshall volumetric test shows a value that exceeds the specifications required by Bina Marga. The results for values were VIM round 100% = 4,55%; Flaky 100% = 5,81%; Cubical 100% = 4,03%.Value VMA Round 100% = 16,11%; Flaky 100% = 17,21%; Cubical 100% = 15,38%. Value VFWA Round100% = 72,77%; Flaky 100% = 67,75%; Cubical 100% = 73,82%. The value of the optimum form is round 47%, flat 39%, and cube 50%. The results of the analysis of the coefficient value of the relative strength of the material at 100% spherical variation is 0.240; 100% flat at 0.231; 100% cube of 0.243; round 50% flat 25% cube 25% at 0.230; round 25% flat 50% cube 25% at 0.241; round 25% flat 25% cube 50% at 0.241.
