Abstract

Abstract This research was conducted in Mangunan Village, Dlingo Sub-District, Bantul Regency, aimed at; (1) Analyzing the form of community participation in the development of the tourist village of Mangunan. (2) Analyzing the level of community participation in the development of the tourist village of Mangunan,and (3) Analyzing the benefits of community participation in the development of the tourist village of Mangunan. The sample selection method in this study uses area probability sampling, which is a sampling technique that is carried out by taking representatives from each region with differences in population. So that the sample in this study amounted to 98 respondents. Primary data collection is supported by questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability using SPSS version 17.0 and secondary data in the form of interviews. The method for measuring the level of community participation in the development of tourism villages is measured by the Sturges formula, which is a calculation that determines the number of classes in grouping interval data with the most data. The results of the study show the direct participation of the community include: money, labor, and material assistance in the activities carried out. Whereas indirect participation in the form of attending, paying attention, and giving responses to information, both with the intention of accepting, obeying, fulfilling, and implementing it, or even rejecting it. The level of community participation in each hamlet is different. There are many benefits of community participation in the development of tourism villages, namely: (1) Benefits in the economic field. (2) Benefits to the environment, and (3) Socio-cultural benefits. Keyword: Community Participation, Development of Mangunan Tourism Village
