Abstract

Electricity is an inseparable part of human life in the modern era. As time goes on, electricity demand in indonesia continues to increase. In order to meet efficient electricity needs, PLN is required to design a balanced distribution of electricity. The reality is often a load imbalance in the distribution of electricity. The appearance of neutral currents on the transformer is a result of the imbalance of loading on the distribution transformer. Neutral currents that flow at the neutral of the transformer cause losses, namely losses due to the presence of neutral current in the transformer neutral conductors and losses due to presence of grounding currents. This research and data collection was conducted at PT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Kartasura. This study uses several methods starting from the literature, references, interviews, data collection and processing which are related to unbalanced burdens. The data obtained in one of the distribution transformer in Unindo branded cards with 200 kVA transformer power capacity on the BCB 1026 substation number or pole number B3-120, Then analyzed to determine the load imbalance of the neutral current and power losses in the transformer. Based on the results of analysis with calculations, the percentage of load imbalance during the day is 4.33% and at night is 5.33%. The value of the power losses caused by the neutral conductor of the transformer there is a neutral current flowing during the day at 0.046 kW and a percentage of 0.028%, while at night it is 0.448 kW and the percentage is 0.280%. The spread of the calculation of the distribution transformer efficiency during the day in 53,81 kW and the percentage is 99,9%, while at night it is 97,73 kW and the percentage is 99,5%.
