Paper is a product of the utilization of cellulose as its raw material. Coconut husk contains cellulose so that it can be used as raw material for making paper pulp. This study was conducted with the aim to determine the effect of ultrasonic frequency, NaOH concentration and cooking time to decrease lignin content of coconut coir produced. The analysis was conducted to determine the decrease of lignin level in coconut coir pulp by using ultrasonic heater. Variable used is free variable of NaOH concentration (5%, 10%, 15%) and cooking time (30, 60, 90 min), variable of 60 Hz ultrasonic frequency.
