Abstract

This study has three objectives. (1) Describe the form of the register and the function of language in the newspaper Suara Merdeka. (2) describe the appropriateness of the use of the register and the function of language in the newspaper Suara Merdeka. (3) describe the implementation of the register form and function of the language in the newspaper Suara Merdeka as learning materials in junior class VIII. The collection of data in this study refer to the library and using the technique of note. Results of the study can be concluded. (1) the form of register such as religion, education, sports, law, politics and economics. Of research results form the register found that is the form of the register and the register form of sports law. In the analysis of the function of language there are four functions of language as a tool to communicate (conveys), as a means of Messenger a sense of familiarity and respect, as a means of recognition, and as a means of better Messenger solidarity. (2) based on the appropriateness of the use of the register there are 68 there is inappropriate use of 2 that is nuanced and thwarted. (3) based on the implementation by making the RPP in accordance with KI and KD 3 3.2 for junior class VIII.
