Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of smart politic media (mathematical monopoly) can improve the learning interest of students of Mijen Surakarta Elementary School in the academic year 2017/2018. The type of research used in this study is quasi-experimental with a research design pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all third grade students in Mijen Elementary School Surakarta consisting of 2 classes. The sample in this study were students of class III A and III B totaling 60 students. The sampling technique in this study is simple random sampling. Data collection techniques used are using questionnaires and observations. Data analysis technique used is by using Wilcoxon test. Wilcoxon test results show that the control class with the experimental class after using smart politics shows a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. The result of Wilcoxon test after using smart politics shows a p-value of 0.379> 0.05. There is a significant difference between students' interest in learning before and after using smart political media (mathematical monopoly) to increase the learning interest of students of SD Negeri Mijen 1 Suakarta in the academic year 2017/2018, so that it can be concluded that the smart political method is very effective for learning.
