Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out: 1). Students 'interest in continuing their studies to tertiary institutions in terms of parents' income level 2). Students' interest in continuing their studies to tertiary institutions in terms of learning achievement 3).Students' interest in continuing their studies to tertiary institutions in terms of parental income and learning achievement.This study uses quantitative associative methods. The population in this study were class XI IPS students of SMA Negeri 1 Purwodadi as many as 120 students. Samples were taken as many as 92 students with simple random sampling technique. Data obtained by the technique of documentation and questionnaire in the trial using validity and reliability tests. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis, t test, F test, test R2,sumbanagn relative and effective contribution. The conclusion of this study are: (1) There is significant relationship between the level of parental income on the interest of students continue to study higher education. Based on the results of the regression analysis proved to derive the value oft>ttable is 2,627> 1,990with significant value 0,032> 0,05. (2) There is a significant influence between learning achievement on students' interest in continuing their studies to college. Based on the results of the regression analysis proved to derive the value oft>ttable is 2,509> 1,990with significant value 0,012> 0,05. (3) There is a significant influence between the level of parental income and learning achievement on students' interest in continuing their studies to higher education. Based on the results of the regression analysis that was proven to obtain an Fcount>Ftablethat is 3,326> 3,09with a significance value of 0,022 <0,05. (4) The regression coefficient of parental income is 0,287 with a relative contribution of 15,59% and an effective contribution of 0,26%. While the regression coefficient learning achievements of 0,607 withthe relative contribution of 84,41% and the effective contribution of 14,34%. (5) Rcalculation results2 obtained 0,170 means 17% of students 'interest in continuing their studies to tertiary institutions is influenced by the level of parental income and learning achievement, the remaining 83% is influenced by other variables
