Abstract

Abstract Self esteem is an evaluation of the individual to himself that expressing the attitude of reject or accept. Self-esteem is formed by the existence of the aspect of self value, leadership popularity, family parents, and achievement. The purpose of this research is to understand deeper and describes self esteem on a illegal racer. This research is qualitative research with the descriptive approach. Informants in this study amounted to 6 people with criteria: an illegal racer who attend atleast once on an illegal race, with age between 15 to 25 year old, and also willing to become a participant. Method data collection by means of interviews and observations. Data obtained analyzed using content analysis. The results of this research indicate on self value, the majority of informants suggested that being an illegal racer in accordance with the Indigo embodied in himself as a hobby, spur Adrenaline, and get sponsors to follow the official race. On the aspect of leadership popularity, the majority of informants seeking a popularity for become More famous as an illegal racers. On the achievement, the majority of informants get a couple of wins the race so that they also earn money, popularity, trustworthiness, and sponsorship from illegal race results. The majority of informants have internal factors like hobbies, material benefits Such as money, ability, and physical condition. External factors such as support from the social environment, popularity, and prestige to each group. In research at the aspect of family parent only informant MKU and AA got support as well as the permission as an illegal racer from their family. Illegal racer self esteem is affected by its success in winning the illegal racing and awarded in the form of money and the offer of sponsorship. The illegal racers will felt has a high self-esteem when illegal racing is considered as excess owned and followed the ability to affect many people, known as well as overachievers.
