Abstract

Food and health knowledge were most important to be learned because food and health knowledge were internal factors that affect consumption of snacks. There are many kind of counseling media, one of them is leaflet. Leaflet was media that used for health promotion because it can deliver information by words and images that able to motivate behavior who saw it so could change the knowledge and manners of primary school student about choosing healthy snacks. The results obtained from a preliminary survey in SD 6 Malangjiwan was 61.76% 4th grade students and 54.28% 5th grade students still bought snacks outside the school during time beaks. To knowing the effect of healthy food leaflet media on the snacks knowledge of SD 6 Malangjiwan students, Malangjiwan, Colomadu, Karanganyar. This study was a Quasi-Eksperimental Design with one group pretest-posttest design. Population of this study was 4th and 5th grade students of SD 6 Malangjiwan amount to 69 students who chosen randomly using stratified random sampling technique. The level of children knowledge was known from the results of questionnaire answers after being given leaflets containing material about healthy food. The test results were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. 61,44% students before got nutrition education had good knowledge level and 86.4% student after got nutrition education had good knowledge level by average increased 7,079 and p-value 0.000. There was effect of using healthy food leaflet media on snacks knowledge of 4th and 5th grader by p-value 0,000.
