Abstract

Learning is a process that a teacher conveys informations or materials to learners until learners are able to learn. To achieve the success of the process, then a teacher must be able to use strategy methods and media appropriately. Therefore, the process can not be separated from the role of media in it. In Ta'mirul Islam Islamic Boarding School, in the process of learning Arabic vocabulary is still using the media that are conventional. Because of that the interest of students in learning Arabic language and their understanding is still lacking, so the need for the use of methods or media more interesting for learners, one of which is the computer media, which the child's interest in the media is very large. In this study the problem studied is how learning using computer media in improving the mastery of the vocabulary of Arabic class IX C KMI Ta'mirul Islam Tegalsari Surakarta academic year 2017/2018 and what methods are used to improve the mastery of the vocabulary Arabic. The purpose of this study is to describe learning by using computer media in improving vocabulary mastery in Arabic and to describe the method used to improve vocabulary mastery in Arabic. The benefits of this research for students are: can increase interest and also mastery of Arabic vocabulary, while the benefits for teachers that can improve skills in the selection and use of appropriate methods in the process of learning to teaching and learning activities more effectively. This type of research is field research with qualitative approach. Methods of data collection using interview methods, observation and documentation. While the data analysis using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of computer media to improve the mastery of Arabic vocabulary such as: Teachers provide vocabulary (mufrodat) in Arabic: 1) Teachers pronounce vocabulary and students imitate teacher's speech. 2) The teacher asks if there are any students who know the meaning of the sentence. 3) The teacher asks the students to open their own computer and search for the meaning of the vocabulary in the application or through the browser. 4) The teacher explains the meaning of the vocabulary. 5) Students make an example of a sentence from a vocabulary (new mufrodat). 6) Teachers correct correct / False of the student sentence example. 7) Students write the taught vocabulary. The methods used to improve the mastery of Arabic vocabulary such as by direct methods, imitate and memorize, lecture.
