Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1. the type of leadership of the principal in building the religious culture of students, 2. the form of students' religious culture, 3. the efforts made in building the religious culture of students at SD Negeri 3 Matesih. This research uses qualitative research. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity of the data using triangulation techniques. Data analysis techniques use interaktive techniques. The results showed that: 1. The leadership type of principal in building the religious culture of students namely the democratic type is more prominent than the other types of leadership. Basically a type is not pure one type of leadership, but a mixture. Principals can lead by authoritarian, democratic, or laisez faire that adjusts the situation and conditions experienced. The principal is authoritarian in making decisions and policies and supervising religious civilization activities, the democratic lead type of the principal is upholding the principle of deliberation, open and happy to receive criticism and suggestions for the progress of the school, creating a conducive work climate and learning climate and building compact cooperation, freeing the initiative of its members, and fostering themselves and their members, while the headmaster leads laisez faire by giving full freedom but still obeys the prevailing rules, 2. the form of student religious culture is divided into 3 levels namely the level of religious values adhered to such as devotion, respect and tolerance, and so on, the level of daily religious practice such as the 3S culture, Dhuhur prayer in congregation, and so on, and the level of religious cultural symbols such as mosques, clothes to cover genitals, and so on, 3. The efforts made in building the religious culture of students at SD Negeri 3 Matesih through exemplary adults and habituation applied by schools.
