Abstract

The research was conducted at the batik cap production work station where there were several unfavorable working conditions, especially in their unnatural work postures such as bending and squatting. Therefore, to find out which work station is most needed to be repaired. So the risk assessment of the work posture of the batik cap production station is done by using the visual management method. Visual management is a method that is produced by summarizing ergonomic methods for the whole body of the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) and OWAS (Ovako Working Posture Analysis System), upper limb RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) and OCRA (Occuptional Repetitive Actions) analysis methods. The visual management method also adds several aspects related to overload and repetitiveness in the OCRA checklist and OWAS. Based on the assessment of work posture with the visual management method, showing 1 process that is 'preparing coloring' with OES values in the range of 0.4 <OES ≤ 0.5 with operational status 'further investigation is needed, changes may be needed'. Then there are 2 processes, namely 'dipping the cloth into the stain tub' and 'giving soda to cloth' with OES values in the range of 0.5 <OES 7 0.7 with operational status being 'immediate investigation and change'.
