Abstract

J 310 140 029 RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LEVELS OF PROTEIN, VITAMIN A, IRON CONSUMPTION FROM ANIMAL SOURCE FOODS AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF CHILDREN UNDER TWO YEARS OLD IN SANGKRAH HEALTH CENTER SURAKARTA. Introduction: The golden period of children under two years old is very important in life, where the growth process occurs. Consumption of animal foods sources contains protein, vitamin A, and iron that can affect growth. Research Purpose: To analyze the relationship between the level of consumption of protein, vitamin A, and iron from animal source foods and nutritional status of children under two years old in Sangkrah Health Center Surakarta. Research Method: The research is observational study with cross sectional design. Using simple random sampling with a total of 54 children under two years. The data collection method used of level of protein, vitamin A, and iron consumption is Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questional, and data collection method used of nutritional status data is by measuring the height of a child under two years. Test correlation using Pearson product moment test and Rank Spearman test. Results: The level of protein consumption in the sufficient category (≥25% of RDA) equals to 57.4%, the level of consumption of vitamin A is good (> 10% of RDA) equals to 61.1%, and the level of iron consumption is in good category (> 10% of the RDA equals to 42.6%, and most of the nutritional status of poor families with TB / U category equals to 83.3%. There is a relationship between the level of protein consumption (p = 0.029), Vitamin A (p = 0.000), and iron (p = 0.001) from animal source foods with nutritional status of children under two years old. Conclusion: There is a correlation between the level of consumption of protein, vitamin A, iron from animal source foods and nutritional status of children under two years old in Sangkrah Health Center Surakarta.
