Abstract

This study is aimed to: (1) Knowing the development of watershed conservation enrichment book as the basis for disaster knowledge, (2) Knowing the effectiveness of watershed conservation enrichment book as the basis of disaster knowledge for the tenth grade students at 1 Senior High School of Jatinom. The development model uses the design from Borg and Gall. The design of the study used randomized pretest and posttest control group design with 72 respondents. The study was conducted at 1 Senior High School of Jatinom with the sampling technique using purposive random sampling by two research classes, namely 1 class as the control class and 1 class as the experiment class. The technique for analyzing data using paired sample t- test. The difference in the results of understanding of watershed conservation material in the control class and experiment has increased, but the significant increase occurred in the experimental class. The average value of the control class pretest was 43, 89 and posttest was 70.14 increase the experienced in learning outcomes by 51%. While, the average value of the experimental class pretest was 40.56 and posttest was 79.03 increase the experienced in learning outcomes by 77%. The results of the T-test test showed that the significant value (2-tailed) that is 0,000 which means less than 0.05 so that H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted.
