Abstract

Batik is one of Indonesia's richness that continues to grow creations. Such as the creation of motifs, materials, manufacturing process to the function of batik. The production of batik produces waste water containing heavy metals that are very dangerous if disposed to the environment. Because most of the population on the Laweyan who produce batik dispose waste directly into the river. One such heavy metal is Pb. So, it is a circial to develope a method pollution by the heavy metal Pb. The method used was electrochemical method with a batch system. Batik waste from the liquid waste disposal Batik Keris Solo. A variation of voltage used was 1,5; 3; 4,5; and 6 volts with a duration of 60 minutes. The electrodes used are Fe-Zn and Al-Zn arranged in parallel. The research show that the greater the voltage, the lower the heavy metal and the Al–Zn electrode is more effective when compared with the Fe–Zn electrode to reduce Pb in batik wastewater.
