Abstract

Hafalan Juz'amma is an activity carried out every day before learning. Research objectives are, (1) Describe the implementation of memorized juz'amma, (2) Describe the implementation of memorizing juz'amma in instilling the character of discipline, (3) Describe the implementation of memorizing juz'amma in instilling the character of responsibility, (4) Describe obstacles and solutions overcome the implementation of memorizing juz'amma. The research approach is qualitative with qualitative descriptive research. Data collection methods with observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis of research data by reducing data, displaying data, and concluding flexibly to answer the formulation of the problem. The results showed, (1) the implementation of hafal juz'amma was carried out every morning with different teaching methods used every day, and led by their respective classroom teachers. (2) Implementation of memorizing juz'amma in fostering the character of discipline, namely by requiring students to arrive on time, follow the 2 activities in an orderly and neat manner, require students to obey the rules. (3) The implementation of memorizing juz'amma in fostering the character of responsibility is by giving memorized letters and obliging students to bring juz'ama or al-qur'an every day. (4) The obstacle experienced is the limited number of teachers resulting in less optimal conditioning and memorization of students' memorabilia, as well as unstable student interest and memorization abilities every day. The solution is that the teacher provides ice breaking, provides memorization cards for each student, and uses different teaching methods every day.
